Katherine and Robert’s wedding at Hutton Hall near Brentwood was on the 5th October 2018. The grand architecture and contemporary decor of Hutton Hall combined with a gorgeous couple made this wedding one of my favourites from last year.

Pre Wedding Shoot

Being my first wedding at Hutton Hall we decided to take Katherine and Robert’s pre-wedding photos at the venue.    This gave me an ideal opportunity to explore the venue and find out about the logistics of the wedding day. Therefore giving me a huge advantage for their wedding photography.  Pre-wedding shoots allow me to get to know a couple better. On this particular occasion I learnt that Katherine, although stunningly beautiful, was critical of her imperfections. So, if I had not done a pre-shoot I would have never been able to see Katherine through her own eyes. Her feedback allowed me to eliminate these imperfections appearing in their wedding photographs.

Getting Ready

I arrived in the morning for Katherine’s getting ready shots, greeted by her lovely bridesmaids and her Mum.  I was pleased to see the familiar face of Carly Williams doing a fantastic job of hair as always.  The atmosphere was calm and quiet throughout the morning and the love in the room was infectious. As a result it was a real joy to photograph. As with most weddings, things ran a little overtime, but I knew Katherine really wanted a photograph of her dad walking her down the staircase at Hutton Hall. So with this in mind I stayed late to capture it. As a result I captured one of my favourite images from the day.

Having a second shooter for the day allows for these slight hiccups. Matt, (Matthew Long Photography), my second shooter was able to capture Katherine’s arrival at the church. He did a great job of capturing her excited spirit and dad’s proudness walking her to the church to greet the Reverend. Such a lovely moment.

The Ceremony

The best moment of this wedding, for me, was when Katherine and her dad walked down the isle to meet Robert. Being right at the front is having the best seat and seeing the Grooms reaction is often a moment I cry no matter how many weddings I photograph. It was obvious to me during their ceremony that these two are really made for each other. Their smiles and expressions throughout the ceremony is why I love weddings.

The Reception

After the ceremony the Bride & Groom greeted their guests outside the church in blazing sunlight. They then drove to continue the wedding at Hutton Hall. We took this time prior to their guests arriving to make the most of the gardens. I captured romantic couple shoots without their guests overlooking. This meant by the time all their guests arrived most of those photographs had been taken so the couple were able to enjoy their drinks reception with their guests in the sunshine.

It was lovely to see all their family and friends enjoy the day and with so much love and laughter it was an easy job to photograph. A big thank you to their Toastmaster for all his help.  Together we were able to do group shots quickly and efficiently so when it came to seating the guests for the wedding breakfast, I was able to take advantage of the lowering golden light for few more photographs of the couple together. October is my favourite time of year to photograph a wedding because of the autumnal colours. If you’re as lucky, as I was at Katherine & Robert’s wedding at Hutton Hall, the combination of autumnal colours and golden light results in dreamy atmospheric photographs.

The food was delicious with great thanks to Limeberry Catering (as always) and after that, the speeches where great fun to be part of. I’ve been working on my dusk shots and wanted to do something a little different to the normal and really pleased with the outcome of this photograph.

Recommended photographer at Hutton Hall

This wedding at Hutton Hall was amazing. I am really pleased that the owner of Hutton Hall contacted me after the event and complimented my photographs and asked me to be one of their recommended suppliers. It’s so nice to work at a venue and then be given such a privilege. So I’m really looking forward to shooting many more weddings at Hutton Hall.

Testimonial from Katherine & Robert

“We came across Jasmine Jade photography on Instagram and instantly loved her work. After meeting at her beautiful home studio we knew we had to book her for our wedding day. She was extremely professional and friendly, and showcased an incredible slideshow from a previous wedding which left us feeling quite emotional. On the wedding day we felt completely happy and confident for Jasmine to lead on all photography, and she captured every perfect moment. Looking back at our photos now, I have no regrets that we chose the best photographer.
