Sammi and Chris chose the magnificent Layer Marney Tower in Colchester for their wedding. Wedding Photography at Layer Marney Tower is always a pleasure to shoot. A Tudor palace dating from 1520, Layer Marney sits like a fairy tale castle surrounded by gardens and parkland. It really is a beautiful and unique wedding venue.
This was a particularly friendly wedding for me to shoot as there were a few familiar faces. Sammi had booked me on recommendation as I had shot some of her friends’ weddings and it was lovely to see them again on this happy day.
Sammi looked stunning in her Enzoani wedding dress, and was accompanied by her attentive bridesmaids who wore elegant dresses from Oriental Pearl in Bluewater. Flowers were provided by Butterfly Flowers in Clacton-on-Sea. Chris and the other men in the wedding party looked resplendent in their suits from Anthony’s in Billericay. One particular guest who needs a mention is Harrison, Sammi and Chris’s gorgeous son, who dressed as the cutest ever page boy, was wearing an outfit from Zara that he had chosen to accessorise with a toy lawnmower (that he happily dragged around with him all day!) One of my favourite shots on the day was of Sammi, Chris and Harrison (with lawnmower) walking in the impressive grounds. My other favourite shot of the day was of Sammi walking upstairs towards the towers. It had a real romantic fairy-tale feel to it.
The ceremony was held in the magnificent Corsellis Room, a long gallery with a beamed ceiling that has many of its original 500 year old Tudor features.
Sammi says of the day ‘The whole day blew us away from the minute it started. It was more than we could have ever dreamed it to be.’
