Ria and Matt chose Hylands House in Chelmsford Essex for their wedding and enjoyed glorious sunshine all day. Surrounded by landscaped parkland, Hylands is a spectacular Grade II listed mansion with meticulously restored period rooms complete with the timeless glamour of a Grand Pavilion making it a premier Essex wedding venue. The elegance of the house, combined with the beautiful garden vistas provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. I always enjoy shooting weddings at Hylands Estate. So much so, that I am lucky enough to be one of their recommended photographers.
Matt and Ria, who have been together since they were teenagers, knew what they wanted for their wedding day. Ria looked every inch the princess in a striking Cinderella Platinum dress from the Alfred Angelo Disney collection. Though not even the dress could top her smile, which had a contagious effect on me and all of Matt and Ria’s guests. I found Ria really helpful to work with as she knew exactly what shots and poses she wanted for her and Matt’s special day. The attentive bridesmaids wore Cadbury purple dresses that were fitted to exact requirements.
Flowers (white roses) were by Ellie Mae in Benfleet who did an amazing job despite having to work through the night as the shipment of flowers were delivered late having been stuck in a Calais blockage!
The wedding ceremony took place in the drawing room, a magnificent and stylish room with a grand piano and ornate chandelier. Then it was through to the Banqueting room which is lavishly decorated with silk lined walls and hand painted wall motifs. Its floor to ceiling windows let the light stream in on Matt and Ria and their guests, and gave a stunning view of the back lawn, parkland and Serpentine lake beyond. Everybody then enjoyed a sumptuous meal and then it was the speeches, which I know were one of the highlights of the couple’s day.
The wedding video was shot by Neil from NDR Films who did a superb job and was a pleasure to work with. I was so impressed by his talent and professionalism that I have added him to my suppliers’ link.
The evening reception was held in a marquee on the grounds of Hyland where there was laughter and dancing well into the evening.
