Elmore Court – Zeenat & Navid’s Wedding Photography
I always love shooting fusion weddings so getting to shoot Zeenat and Navid’s Persian wedding at the stunning Elmore Court in Gloucestershire was a real honour. Zeenat’s meticulous attention to detail and Elmore Court’s stunning space and excellent level of customer service were the perfect match and created an amazing and unforgettable wedding day. I’ll get back to all the reasons I love shooting wedding photography at Elmore Court in a minute. Let’s start at the beginning of Zeenat and Navid’s day.
Berta Bridal Gown
Zeenat got ready in one of Elmore Court’s beautiful suites. She looked stunning in her Berta Bridal gown that she bought at The Wedding Club in London. It really was one of the most beautiful wedding gowns I have ever seen. A backless design with exquisite lace detail, and layers of see through chiffon giving the dress a romantic weightless and floaty look. The cut of the dress also gave her a breathtakingly beautiful silhouette. As I got my first glimpse of Zeenat in the dress I got goosebumps and I briefly caught the eye of the videographer from Unique Visuals and a discrete smile and nod told me that he was as blown away by it as I was.
Us Gloucestershire wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to light so the light at Elmore Court combined with Zeenat’s see through dress made me really excited for what I could do with the photographs.
About Elmore Court
Elmore Court was originally established as a home in the 13th century and has views over the Cotswold and River Severn. It has a historically rich house and beautiful gardens. Sometimes these large houses can feel a little too big but its interiors are luxurious and opulent making it uber stylish and cosy at the same time. This meant that I was spoilt for choice when it came to beautiful backgrounds both inside and out when photographing Zeenat, Navid and their guests.
Zeenat and Navid’s vision for the wedding was classic, timeless, natural, minimal and modern so Elmore Court was the perfect canvas for them to create their ideal wedding day. Every little detail was thought through down to the ring boxes and the stationery. Nothing was left to chance.
Flowers on the day were the clever creation of the team at Amber Persia and looked just perfect.
Persian Wedding
The traditional Persian ceremony was lead by Navid’s nan and was spoken in Iranian. There was an amazing wedding table known as the ‘Sofreh Aghd.’ The table is decorated with beautiful food and floral arrangements. It has a mirror on it called ‘the mirror of fate’ and two candelabras to symbolise light and fire. Other gifts represent prayer, prosperity and fertility. When I shoot fusion wedding photography I always feel lucky that I get the chance to witness and learn about different wedding traditions.
I also loved the bridesmaids knife dance and the Iranian traditional dancing was amazing. I took my life into my own hands getting images on that dancefloor!
